[BKSP.ORG] Initial Impression…

I love it. The forums are easy to navigate. The rules — common sense. The people — published and unpublished writers who are serious about writing or at least WANT to be. (Because, of course, you NEED to pay to join).

[Blog Novel Post #5]: Character Development Continued…

So I went to a game that my cousin played in a bit… Anyone hear of Lacrosse? It’s like fishing and football mashed together. I hardly understand how they have so much equipment on their bodies when field-hockey has none and looks more dangerous… Anyway, so I was watching my cousin play goalkeeper. He’s not an athlete. But that’s OK! I am basing this character … Loosely on him.

Maybe.

I joined Bksp.org today.

This is a writers community that is exclusive. Meaning you have to pay to join. I think that’s the best way to go if you ask me. I was in scribophile for a while a while back but you could join that for free if you want. Then get kudos to do things around the site. It’s a great system. But It doesn’t ring true for me in what I need as a writer. Plus you could pay for scribophile but it’s twice as much as bksp.org so… we’ll see…

I’ll let you know what I think of it after my trial 5 days 🙂

Think fast! Some loose “Change!”

Hello!!

I’m switching things up. I recently have flopped around ideas about what story to write and which to focus on. I’m struggling with focus now. So, HERE IS MY THOUGHT!

You choose!

Yup. You!

You will see a form to the right so type-type-type and click-click-click your choice or just randomly pick one while singing the ABC’s or E-knee-me-knee-my-knee-mo!

(And for some reason my knee is feeling funny.)

Redoing the past

Been writing a redo of my past… More specifically my romantic past.
It’s going to stay between one Beta reader and myself for now.
With the eventual finish … I may or may not decide to publish it for the world under a special pen name.
But this is what I’ve been up to. Every other story including the blog novel have been placed on the back burner for now.
This is also a selfish project. It is to be a way of closure of giving up a certain dream…. or an opportunity to take a chance on something new and shiny.
So basically I’m putting this out there because things have shifted. Plus, I felt like sharing!!!
Anyone starting or finishing a new goal!? Comment!!!!

Blog Book Adventure [Post #3]: Planning… Planning… And (YUP!) more planning!

I’m looking forward to crawling onto the floor infront of this very desk that I type on and start piecing out a very rough net outline for unintentionally on purpose. I have a pretty good idea already of where I want the story to end up, but only a vague premise as to how and where it’ll start.

I have my protagonist: a thirteen-fourteen year old geeky boy who is semi-athletic and very personable to the people he knows well. His name is Griffin Goode and …

… he’s about to be solicited by an organization to participate in a project that has been ongoing to cover up a technology department mishap that was either allowed to happen, or accidentally overlooked.

That’s the premise.

Let me know what you think below!

[Just know that your comments are only that. They will not change or influence or alter my story. Thanks for visiting!]

My writing life: Backstory

I’ve been writing since before sixth grade. The exact time and place is beyond my recollection, or at least just my caring. That’s really not my forte. I don’t really see the need to know for that. It’s not like what I knew back then will help or harm me now as I become more and more serious about being serious about writing.

I can tell you when that happened. I can remember when and where I was too. But that’s really not important either in the here and now of my present situation.

What does matter is the pivotal point between that time and now that I was changed from a naïve amateur who just sat down to write when the notion to write hit me without a plan or a method or a theme or a … anything… into a serious writer. It wasn’t a specific day.

It was when I landed on a website. Two actually. Wait make that three.

1.) Storyfix.com (Larry Brooks) – Writing/Story Structure Guru
2.) CreativePenn.com (Joanna Penn; AKA J. F. Penn) – Accomplished Self-published Author & Writing Podcaster
3.) MarieForleo.com – A rich, happy and hot multi-passionate Entrepreneur who coaches women to make it in Online Businesses.

These three people are huge in my brain right now. They might not even know it, but they might know it. Whatever, they are awesome. If you need something to boost your writing moral or cure you temporarily of your fear of success, or your fear of failure (whichever, both are scary to some extent, no?)… Click above to be launched into some kind of wonderful epiphany for your life, writing, business, etc. Do it…

Each one of their sites has TONS of free, valuable content! They are real people dedicated to help you do something. And they give away a lot of their know-how for free… Did I mention it’s free!? They also have amazing books (that I own and have read most of them or reading them now) on said awesome content that actually teaches you everything you need to know about it … delving deep and thoroughly into their most passionate topics. GET IT! READ IT! DO IT!

A wise person doesn’t just talk about it, they act about it.

Tell me what you’re going to do below! NOW! Then, go do it. If you need it, I’ll point (link or poke or kick, maybe) you in the right direction…
